IDOL STRUCTURES (2015)
Idol Structures focuses on the three-dimensional elements of the systems of advertising in public space, while evading or obscuring the two-dimensional messages they carry. Through photography, sculpture and installation, the project seeks to subvert the commercialized messages of desire by redirecting the aesthetic to the place-holders and substrates that are normally subjugated by the primacy of two-dimensional text, graphics and images. A monograph of the exhibition was published by the DePaul Art Museum.
